Fukuoka and its environs have been one of the most important hubs of interaction and communication in East Asia since prehistoric times, and are very rich in archaeological/historical heritage. The Kyushu National Museum (http://www.kyuhaku.jp/) and the Yoshinogari National Historical Park (http://www.yoshinogari.jp/) well exemplify this, and they will be included in pre/post-congress excursion programs.
A preliminary planning committee has been set up, and the full committee will start working shortly.
